  • International Networks to Collaborate on Sustainable, Accessible Tourism

    PORTLAND, Ore., and ATHENS, Greece. Two leading organisations in the fields of sustainable tourism and accessible tourism have agreed to collaborate on new initiatives to improve the quality of tourist destinations and enterprises around the world. Sustainable Travel International (STI) and European Network for Accessible Tourism (ENAT) will align their work more closely toward a common goal of improving the long-term sustainability and accessibility of tourism offers in destinations around the world, while improving the quality of life for local resident communities.

  • European Commission's "EDEN Awards" will Support Accessible Tourism Destinations in Europe

    The European Commission has chosen "Accessible Tourism Destinations" as this year's theme for the European Destinations of Excellence Awards. National Tourism Authorities are invited to organise competitions to select the best small, "non traditional" destinations that provide an outstanding offer for tourists regardless of their physical limitations, disabilities or age.

  • Social Tourism European Exchanges Platform

    The STEEP project aims at creating and developing a web‐based platform as a mechanism intended to facilitate transnational tourism particularly during the low season, and within the different Calypso target groups. It also aims to increase the competitiveness of tourism SME’s by facilitating business opportunities between intermediaries acting on behalf of clients.
