The EU-funded “Happy Tourist” project presents its results on 25th October 2007, highlighting educational tools, an e-learning method and a learning–during-work method for the promotion of accessible tourism practices in the tourism industry. The event is open to all.
The final conference of the 'HAPPY TOURIST' project takes place on 25th October 2007 in Thermi, at the Central Administration building of CERTH, 6th km of Harilaou-Thermi st. Thessaloniki, from 11am to 3.30 p.m.
The 'HAPPY TOURIST' project was funded within the Leonardo Da Vinci 2 programme of the European Commission and aimed at the provision of equal opportunities to people with disabilities in the field of tourism, to be either served as tourists or be employed in relevant enterprises.
To this end, innovative educational tools, an e-learning method and a learning–during-work method were developed. The educational tools include multimedia software for e-learning and for employees of tourist units on accessibility issues, a database for accessibility aids to be used in hotel units, an e-learning platform suitable for people using computers to a small extent and learning assessment tools.
During the conference, the project products and the conclusions of the pilot trials of the project methods and tools will be presented.
