Access to air travel for disabled people : Code of practice.

The purpose of this Code of Practice is to improve the accessibility of air travel to disabled people in the United Kingdom.

This Code of Practice is aimed at all those involved in air travel including travel agents, tour operators, UK airlines (scheduled, “no frills” and charter), UK airports (including the architects and designers who are involved in their design), ground handling companies and retailers. It is not intended as a guide for disabled people. The terminology used follows aviation convention. The Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee (DPTAC – the Government’s statutory advisers on the transport needs of disabled people) will provide a companion guide for disabled people to explain what they can expect from the Code.
