Less mobile visitors to Dachstein World Heritage are for the first time provided with barrier-free access to the Krippenstein cableway up to the top of the mountain. Improvements include the accessible car park, ramps and only-short-distance passages without significant slopes. You'll find a beautiful view of the Dachstein plateau and the surrounding mountain peaks.

The cable cars have been designed to ensure the enjoyment of the splendid outlook, also for wheelchair users.

At the mountain various options are available. On the mountain top a lift has been installed leading directly to the Dachstein Cave World-starting point from where the World Natural Heritage viewpoint is easily accessible. This viewpoint features terrific views of both the Dachstein plateau and the surrounding mountain peaks.

For those who do not "aim high" the Schönbergalm area provides an interesting option. Here, where the exhibition "Dachstein-Explorers-Cave Bears" has been staged, the visitors may experience a close-to-nature family park which offers interesting insights into geology. This almost barrier-free family park is an appropriate alternative to the caves which - having 600 steps - cannot be adapted to  barrier-free requirements.
