Turismo de Portugal. The Accessible Festivals Programme has been launched, finally!

Due to the limitations imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, it was impossible to launch this Programme, as the major events only took place again in 2022, after the lifting of the confinement.
In these circumstances, the Portuguese Government concluded that the conditions for the launch of this Program were guaranteed.
So, this Programme was launched on 26 September 2022 and we are glad to share with you the webpage of the Turismo de Portugal website dedicated to this Program (in Portuguese, but with Microsoft tools the page can be translated).
The Accessible Festivals Programme aims to promote and distinguish inclusive practices in broad-spectrum cultural events that present conditions that allow accessibility and inclusion – with identical conditions of comfort, safety and autonomy – of all audiences without exception.
The typologies of festivals covered by this Programme are: Street arts; Performing arts; Visual arts; Cinema; Dance; Literature; Music; Theatre.
This Programme also includes the annual award of the “+ Accessible Festival” Award, which aims to distinguish the most accessible event from the set of festivals that expressly apply for the award each year.
