Brussels, 17 May 2020. Making PM² project management methodology accessible to the European Network of Accessible Tourism.

Brussels-based non-profit associations, ENAT and PM² Alliance have recently signed an MoU with the aim of sharing expertise and fostering closer relations among their members and partners. 

Over the last 12 years ENAT has built a strong reputation as a “champion” for the development and promotion of better access in the tourism sector for visitors with disabilities and/or other access requirements. Its associates and members include the UN World Tourism Organisation, national and regional tourist boards, tourism enterprises, educational institutions and organisations representing people with disabilities and other advocacy groups. ENAT has carried out numerous projects and studies for the EU Commission and European Parliament, and contributes to education and training for the tourism sector and development of accessible destinations and businesses in Europe and further afield.

The PM² Alliance asbl is an international, not-for-profit organisation with a broad membership across the member States of the EU. Through its activities, the PM² Alliance develops and fosters excellence in Project Management, creates and disseminates knowledge throughout its network for the enhancement of project management mindsets and practices, bringing peers together to exchange on the latest developments and promotes the wide adoption of the European PM² Methodology.

Speaking after signing their new Memorandum of Understanding, ENAT President, Anna Grazia Laura said:

  • “We look forward to our cooperation with PM2 ALLIANCE and its members, especially as we develop our management of international projects. Tourism projects are always challenging, given the number and variety of stakeholders involved in this complex domain. We hope to make our outreach more effective and increase the impact of our members’ activities by linking up with this dynamic association of highly skilled PM practitioners.“

PM² Alliance founding member and President Nicos Kourounakis said:

  • “The tourism sector plays an important role in the economic and social development of Europe. We can anticipate that many businesses and public bodies will need to make significant adjustments, due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. In our collaboration with ENAT, we hope to make a positive contribution to sustainable and inclusive tourism in the EU Member States and around the globe.”
