  • Catalonia, Recognised for its Work Advocating Accessible Tourism

    Catalonia has been recognised at London’s World Travel Market for its work advocating accessible tourism and has garnered First Prize in Europe’s CHARTS awards for its work fostering cultural and sustainable tourism. “The Way of Saint James for All” initiative was chosen from amongst 27 candidates from all over Europe as a benchmark of excellence and good practices in the field of cultural and sustainable tourism.

  • Visit The New Website "Azores for All" By Cresaçor

    ENAT member, Cresaçor - Cooperativa Regional de Economia Solidária - has created a new website www.azoresforall.com to promote leisure activities for tourists with special needs. Soon we will also offer cultural tours, tours with a social component, as well as information on accessibility in the Azores.

  • EDEN European Destinations of Excellence Award 2013 - Accessible Destination Winners

    “Accessible tourism” was the theme of excellence for the 2013 EDEN competition. Destinations awarded under this theme have succesfully implemented a tourism offer based on an overall approach to accessibility for tourists regardless of their special needs, limitations, disabilities or age.   • UNWTO Approves Accessible Tourism Recommendations

    The UNWTO "Recommendations on Accessible Tourism for All” (2013) have been approved and endorsed by the General Assembly. Updated from the 2005 version, the recommendations outline a form of tourism that involves a collaborative process among stakeholders to enable people with access requirements to function independently through universally designed tourism products, services and environments. These recommendations were developed within the framework of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of 2007.
