09/04/2014 Great War Centenary 2014-2018 Flanders Fields - Accessible to Everyone

Visit Flanders is seizing upon the commemoration period in Flanders Fields to implement a comprehensively accessible holiday chain, and will therefore promote the detailed provision of information in consideration of all aspects of an accessible stay: information and reception, accommodation, restaurants, cafés, great war sites, transportation, parking spaces, assistance and care, etc.… Not everything that is claimed to be accessible has been included in this brochure.

20/09/2013 Accessibility Review of European National Tourist Organisations’ Websites, 2012

Presentation of a benchmarking study carried out by ENAT. Between August and October 2012 41 websites were tested for compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - to see if they are accessible to people with disabilities. Secondly, the content of the websites was examined for information specific to the needs of visitors with disabilities and other people who need good access. 01/11/2011 Guidelines to ensure accessibility to museums and exhibitions for the blind and partially sighted

A visit to a museum, whether of art, local history or technology, is just as worthwhile for the blind and partially sighted as it is for visitors without visual impairments. In order to make it easier for the blind and partially sighted to visit museums and exhibitions autonomously, the Coordination Unit on Tourism of the German Federation of the Blind and Partially Sighted (Reg. Ass.) took the public discussion on this topic into consideration and then proceeded to make the following recommendations at its annual conference in Essen in 2010.

By taking steps to better meet their social responsibility, enterprises can help themselves and help society as a whole. The European Commission has put forward a new, simpler definition of corporate social responsibility as “the responsibility of enterprises for their impacts on society”.
