01/12/2007 Conference report: Second International Forum on Accessible Tourism (ICAT 2007)

At the same time as ENAT's conference in Valencia, colleagues in the Asia Pacific region were discussing similar topics on the other side of the world at the Second International Forum on Accessible Tourism (ICAT 2007). Scott Rains reports:  

29/11/2007 Italian-Australian Initiative on 3rd December: European Day of Disabled People

Supported by the cities of Milan and Melbourne, ATLHA ONLUS is proud to present its awareness-raising campaign on the theme of mobility and accessibility of public transport by people with disabilities: A DISABLED PERSON HAS YOUR AIMS. BUT NOT YOUR MEANS. The year-long campaign will commence on the European Day of Disabled People, the 3rd December 2007, under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Ministry for Equal Opportunities and Rights.  

22/10/2007 'HAPPY TOURIST' Final Conference in Thessaloniki

The EU-funded “Happy Tourist” project presents its results on 25th October 2007, highlighting educational tools, an e-learning method and a learning–during-work method for the promotion of accessible tourism practices in the tourism industry. The event is open to all.  

05/10/2007 Celebrate International Day of People with Disabilities!

ATLHA ONLUS is organising, in Milan, a series of events to celebrate the 3rd December, by focussing on the theme of accessibility of public transport for disabled people. We are looking for disabled artists to provide works for exhibition...  

11/09/2007 BUS & BUS BUSINESS 2007, Verona, Italy

From the 21st until the 24th of November 2007, VeronaFiere organises the 11th edition of Bus & Bus Business – International Exhibition of Bus Transport, the most important exhibition of its kind in Italy. This year, the exhibition will focus on Transport for Disabled People.

04/09/2007 European Forum for Social Tourism, Riva del Garda, Trento, Italy

This event, organised by the International Bureau of Social Tourism (BITS) in collaboration with the Trentino Federation of Co-operatives, addresses the right to tourism for all in Europe. Around 40% of European citizens are not going on holiday, mainly for economic reasons.
