03/11/2008 First International Conference "Accessible Tourism for All", Belgrade

13-14 December 2008. Belgrade. The First International Conference on "Accessible Tourism for All" to be held in Serbia will take place in Belgrade, supported by the Ministry of Economy and Development, the National Tourist Organization of Serbia, the Tourist Organization of Belgrade and the Congress Bureau of Serbia.  

03/11/2008 European Day of People with Disabilities Conference

1-2 December 2008, Brussels. To mark the European Day of People with Disabilities, the European Commission organises a policy conference in the first week of December each year, in close cooperation with the European Disability Forum (EDF). This year's theme is, "Acting Locally for a Society for All". The Conference will focus on how EU action/legislation reaches the local level and will provide examples of disability mainstreaming, including developments in accessible tourism.  

08/10/2008 Accessibility and Sustainability in Tourism. One-day Conference, Linz, Austria

20 November 2008. Linz, Austria. Experts from Austria and other European countries will present ideas and practical examples of sustainability and accessibility in tourism. The conference will be of particular interest to tourism businesses, destination managers, public authorities and decision-makers, user organisations, experts and educators.

11 September 2008. Berlin. Conclusions of a new study of accessible tourism in Germany by the University of Münster and PROJECT M GmbH will be presented at this one-day conference which is held under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology.

In the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities, Open Days 2008, the European Commission's Tourism Unit of DG Enterprise in collaboration with DG Regio and the Committee of the Regions, is organising the European Day of Tourism in Brussels.

25-27 June. Nuremburg, Germany. The theme of the Conference will be: “Mobility for All – The Use of Ambient Intelligence in Addressing the Mobility Needs of People with Impairments: The Case of ASK-IT”.

29.05.2008 Torino. This international event, organised by The Region of Venaria, Italy, focusses on political and business strategies in favour of accessible tourism for all. Speakers include the partners of the EU funded project “A Mountain for All” and invited guests.  

13/05/2008 Widening the horizons for people over 55. Tourism Conference

16.5.2008 Brussels: The conference is organised in the framework of the project “TraVeL AGEnts (Traveling, Volunteering and Learning Activities Generating Employment for the over 55s)”, co-financed by DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities (ENEA preparatory action on active ageing and mobility of elderly people) of the European Commission.

15/04/2008 Producing Tactile Images. Workshop: Colchester, UK

13.5.2008 This is a one day workshop at Colchester Castle Museum (Essex, UK). This introductory course by the Royal National Institute for the Blind will provide practical information and examples on the use of tactile images and diagrams in museums and galleries.
