04/03/2015 MOVE! Expo, Conference and Networking Event

11 to 14 March 2015, Athens. The Convention is being staged to table and endorse policies and strategies which will expand the Industry to address a broader Market – meaning more business for all. It was designed so that decision-makers and purse-string holders (and even regulators) could get together for the purpose of addressing, considering and candidly expressing their views and opinions on issues impacting the Health Tourism Sector, moving towards “adoption and implementation”.

17/11/2014 UN Global Expo on South-South Development 2014 - Forum on Accessible Tourism (DSPD/UNDESA)

17 November 2014, Washington DC, USA. Tourism is a rapidly growing industry and has become one of the main income generators for many countries in the global South. Ensuring the sustainability of this growing source of income depends heavily on ensuring that its social and economic impact is both positive and inclusive. Greater attention to accessibility in the tourism industry is a major part of this impact.  

07/11/2014 Accessible Tourism in Europe and Portugal - Clues and Challenges

13 and 14 November 2014, Lisbon and Vilamoura, Portugal. As part of the Framework Agreement established between Turismo de Portugal and ENAT, three Technical Meetings will be held with tourist companies and public authorities in Lisbon and the Algarve, addressing the state-of-the-art in Accessible Tourism, examining Portuguese examples of good practice and defining lines of development for destinations and businesses.

28/10/2014 First UNWTO Conference on Accessible Tourism in Europe: Accessibility in Heritage Cities

San Marino, 19 to 20 November 2014. To promote the importance of universal accessibility in tourism, UNWTO and the Government of the Republic of San Marino will jointly organize the First UNWTO Conference on Accessible Tourism in Europe. The Conference will be held in collaboration with Village for All (V4A) and the ONCE Foundation to advance the social inclusion of people with disabilities.
