31/07/2009 European Tourism Day and European Tourism Forum, 2009

The European Commission announces that the European Tourism Day and the European Tourism Forum will be held, respectively, on 8 and 9 October in Brussels (Square Brussels Meeting Centre). 400 participants will meet to discuss the actual situation of tourism and to reveal their recipes for the improvement of European Tourism. Register now on-line.

The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation (HKSR) is proud to announce that TRANSED 2010 will take place in Hong Kong in June 2010. The theme of TRANSED 2010 is “Sustainable Transport & Travel for All”.

Berlin, 11 July 2009. The International Paralympic Committee will host the second Paralympic Day as a biennial event at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, promoting the fascination and social dimension of Paralympic Sport.

Athens, Greece. Be part of the great celebration of disability, technology, aesthetics and culture which is taking place on the 15th, 16th and 17th of May 2009. The EXPO, organized annually by ENAT funding member, DISABILITY NOW, includes a showcase of accessible tourism offers by ENAT members and associates.  

03/04/2009 Addressing the Human Resource Challenge for Tourism: The Qatar Summit

Doha, Qatar. 21 to 22 April 2009. The UNWTO has called the Qatar Summit to provide an informed diagnosis of the region’s tourism human resources challenge and to deliver a range of solutions to form a common agenda for tourism human resources in the region to move the sector forward. ENAT member Mr. Ibrahim Abu-Helil will speak on the HR development needs for accessible tourism.

23 to 24 April, 2009. The Serbian NGO, "Centre Living Upright" is organising this workshop on the social and economic need for infrastructural investment for accessible tourism and to recognise the need for developing products and services in the area of tourism that will be accessible for all.  

18/02/2009 Competitive and Sustainable Tourism for All: European Workshop for SMEs

Ljubjlana, Slovenia. 12 March 2009. Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) are at the heart of the European Tourism Industry and have a great capacity for adaptability and innovation. This one-day workshop, marking the launch of a new EU-funded SME network initiative led by ENAT, will focus on how SMEs can address accessibility in their business, making them more competitive as well as sustainable over the long-term.

30 September - 1 October 2009. Papers and Workshop contributions are invited for the 2nd ENAT International Congress 2009, “Trends and Prospects for Accessible Tourism”. The Congress will showcase the latest and most innovative contributions to Accessible Tourism for All from Europe and around the world.
