17/02/2010 Facilitating Exchanges through Calypso: The Way Forward from the Supply Side Perspective

2-3 March 2010, Rome. This meeting, organised by the European Commission and the Italian authorities, will focus on the tourism supply side, such as accommodation establishments (hotels, hostels, spas etc), travel agents and tour operators.

Brussels, 13 January 2010. The Accessibility Guide for Companies analyzes and presents criteria regarding the accessibility of spaces, routes, elements, furniture, products and services in our surroundings. The Guide will be presented for Members of the European Parliament by its author, Architect Enrique Rovira‐Beleta.

06/12/2009 Presentation of the Accessibility Guide of Sports Infrastructure for People with Reduced Mobility

Brussels, 14 December 2009. The association AMT Concept will present the guide “Sport & Handicaps” in the presence of Evelyne Huytebroeck, Ministry of Brussels for the Assistance of Persons with Disabilities. The main aim of this work is to show the level of accessibility of the sporting infrastructures of the Area of Brussels-Capital to the people with reduced mobilities (PMR).

Tourism Portugal, in partnership with the National Institute for Rehabilitation, the Foundation League, the Cascais Foundation and Accessible Portugal are hosting this seminar to strengthen the awareness of universal accessibility in the development of “Tourism for all”.  

23/11/2009 EU CALYPSO Meeting: The Role and Importance of Regional Authorities in the Social Tourism Field

Toulouse, France 3 to 4 December 2009. The European Commission, in collaboration with the Midi-Pyrénées Region, is organising another Awareness Building Meeting concerning the EU preparatory action Calypso.  

17/11/2009 Conference “Managing CALYPSO in Poland and Neighbouring Member States”

Warsaw, Poland. 17 to 18 November 2009. The EU Calypso initiative addresses the introduction of cross-border 'Social Tourism' in the EU Member States. This conference is one of a series taking place in 2009 - 2010 to raise awareness and gather ideas for the development of the scheme.

Barcelona. 30 November to 1 December 2009. In the framework of the EU funded ACCESSI TOURISME project, the Autonomous University of Barcelona is hosting this event, in cooperation with the Generalitat de Catalunya, Catalunya Tourism and other partners. The Symposium is specially addressed to researchers and graduate students,public and private tourism professionals, representatives of destinations, local public bodies, planners, policy makers, promoters, consultants, managers and tourism providers.
