Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Vancouver and Whistler, Canada
Vancouver, British Columbia is the venue for the two great winter sports spectacles: the Olympic Games, from 12 to 28 February and Paralympic Games, from 12 to 21 March, 2010.
The city of Vancouver and Whistler mountain resort have prepared thoroughly to welcome both athletes and spectators - with or without disabilities.
The Olympic and Paralympic Games website offers a wealth of information about every aspect of the sports, venues, spectator information, the people and cultures of north-western Canada. The website includes several videos highlighting the sports venues, athletes' village, the city, tourist attractions and natural scenery of the region.
The Province of British Columbia has made extra efforts to achieve a lasting legacy from holding the Games, not only in terms of new infrastructure projects but also by mobilising a huge range of cultural, commercial and citizens' initiatives.
2010 "Legacies Now" is dedicated to strengthening arts, literacy, sport and healthy living, accessibility and volunteerism in communities across BC leading up to, and beyond, the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
