Addressing the Human Resource Challenge for Tourism: The Qatar Summit

Doha, Qatar. 21 to 22 April 2009. The UNWTO has called the Qatar Summit to provide an informed diagnosis of the region’s tourism human resources challenge and to deliver a range of solutions to form a common agenda for tourism human resources in the region to move the sector forward. ENAT member Mr. Ibrahim Abu-Helil will speak on the HR development needs for accessible tourism.

UN World Tourism Organisation logoThe UNWTO has called the Qatar Summit to provide an informed diagnosis of the region’s tourism human resources challenge and to deliver a range of solutions to form a common agenda for tourism human resources in the region to move the sector forward.

The Qatar Summit will hear the current status of tourism Human Resource issues from world experts in the field, drawn from the tourism industry, government and universities and discuss how the showcased good practices can be applied to the region.

ENAT member Mr. Ibrahim Abu-Helil will speak on the HR development needs for accessible tourism.

A key feature of the Qatar Summit will be interactive panel discussions to focus on the issues and brainstorm solutions for the region to move towards a common agenda for tourism HR in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Summit conference will attract key stakeholders, decision makers, opinion leaders, policy makers and educators concerned with attracting, managing and retaining talent in the tourism sector in this dynamic region.

The Qatar Summit is structured around four key themes:
