16/09/2011 Pro-ICAT Malaysia: Accessible Tourism Promotes National Development

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 25 to 28 November 2011. Pro-ICAT is not only an informative conference but also an exhibition, a photo contest, a convoy and much more. This, the first event of its kind in Malaysia, is organised by Beautiful Gate Foundation for The Disabled, together with Disabled People International Asia Pacific Region, Malaysia Confederation of The Disabled and other disabilities related NGOs.

Jaén, 7 October 2011. "Tourism and Accessibility: An Alliance for Quality" is the theme of a special session of presentations addressing current trends and achievements in accessible tourism in Spain and abroad. The event takes place within the eleventh domestic tourism fair in Andalucía, where destinations present their best attractions and offers.  

01/09/2011 9th Annual ESPAnet Conference. Sustainability and Transformation in European Social Policy

Valencia, Spain. 8 to 10 September 2011. ESPAnet conferences attempt to stimulate exchange among scholars in the field of European social policy analysis and to promote inter- and multi-disciplinary approaches. One stream of the conference addresses developments in tourism, leisure and social welfare.  

31/08/2011 TransRomanica CrossCultour Final Conference and Workshop

7 September 2011, Brussels, Belgium. The Final Conference-Workshop of the CENTRAL EUROPE project CrossCulTour addresses "CrossCulTour achievements, European cultural tourism and best practice in heritage management and Cultural Tourism Management". The workshop will be followed by an evening event and exhibition.  

09/08/2011 Open Meeting and Public Consultation of Joint Report "Accessibility in Built Environment"

28 September 2011, Brussels, Belgium. Following the European Mandate 420 to CEN (European Committee for Standardisation), two teams of experts have prepared a report on European and International accessibility standards in the built environment. The report will be discussed at an Open Meeting at CEN Headquarters.

Highlighting the latest market data and research findings, we will show how businesses and destinations are winning market share by offering accessible infrastructure, information and services.  

27/07/2011 Spain and UNWTO Organise 1st International Conference on Ethics and Tourism

Madrid, Spain. 15 to 16 September 2011. The Spanish General Secretariat of Tourism and Domestic Trade and the World Tourism Organization decided to jointly organize the First International Congress on Ethics and Tourism, inviting leading figures to participate as speakers. Also participating and providing support to this event are the Vice-Presidency of the European Commission and the Permanent Secretariat of the World Committee on Ethics in Tourism, along with high-level sponsors.

16 and 17 June 2011. Turin, Italy. Fondazione CRT, as member of the European Foundation Center, organizes an international meeting on Accessible Cities in collaboration with the Global Partnership for Disability and Development, the World Bank and the League of Accessible and Historical Cities.  

06/05/2011 Conference on Challenges and Opportunities for Local and Regional Authorities in Tourism for All

Östersund, Sweden. 26 and 27 May 2011. The International Social Tourism Organisation (ISTO) in partnership with the Jämtland Region is organising a conference on “Tourism for All” with B2B meetings and meetings between regions and organisations to discuss projects and possible partnerships.
