Final meeting of partners in the project ATHENA

The final meeting of transnational partners ENAT and KAZUIST and guest organisations took place on 5 to 6 May in Horní Lomná, the Czech Republic.
Partners summarized and evaluated the cooperation within the project and gathered inspiration from other implementers of accessible tourism projects across Europe, identifying ways to continue the cooperation.
Project Results
Review and evaluation of the ATHENA project, insight to the other KAZUIST activities in accessible tourism and European good practices in the field of training were the key items of the meeting agenda.
A European project, "Accessible Tourism for Europe" and its outcomes was presented, i.e. training package consisting of 4 training modules for managers and staff in tourism, including one specific course for B&B facility owners and managers and promoter’s manual – a tool which should help promoters of the accessible tourism with dissemination of the training package within their networks and country.
A discussion on possible European cooperation and future coordination of activities in the field of accessible tourism and training moderated by Mrs. Lilian Mϋller, the President of ENAT took place during the 2nd meeting day.
One of ENAT efforts, activities towards the accessible tourism training certification in line with the European Qualifications Framework was suggested as a relevant theme for the follow-up common project.
The programme was completed by visits at tourism attractions and facilities in the region of Tsesin Beskydy with a focus on accessibility.
